St. Paul Lutheran

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg will hold a Lenten meal, study and service each Wednesday through March 16. The meal will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by “Bold Women of the Old Testament” at 6:30 p.m. and a worship service at 7 p.m.

 

Mt. View Parish

Pastor Nate Robinson will be the speaker for a Lenten service sponsored by the Mt. View Parish at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Woodstock. The theme will be “Open My Life, Lord.”

 

Rotary club

The Rotary Club of New Market will meet at noon Wednesday at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in Miller Grille.

The guest speaker will be Hobey Bauhan, who will discuss the Shenandoah Valley turkey industry.  Information:  www.newmarketrotaryclub.net.

 

Library activities

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal has announced the following programs:

  • Crochet group meeting: 10 a.m., Wednesday, learn how to crochet or share your talents. Meetings held monthly on the second and fourth Wednesday.
  • The Gondolas of the Shenandoah River: 6 p.m., Thursday. Patrick Farris will give a history of the pre-Civil War gondolas that plied the Shenandoah River and current efforts to build a replica. Sponsored by the Friends of the Shenandoah River State Park.
