Spaghetti dinner

South Warren Volunteer Fire Department in Bentonville will hold a spaghetti dinner with live gospel music from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. A free will offering will be received at the door.

 

Lunch Bunch

The Lunch Bunch will meet for lunch at noon Monday at the Strasburg United Methodist Church.

Exhibit

Duke Hall Gallery at James Madison University’s Forbes Center will feature an exhibit by Maria Magdalena Compos-Pons beginning Monday through April 6.

Volunteers needed

The Virginia Extension Service is seeking older adult sedentary men and women volunteers to participate in an eight-week strength training research study program.

Classes will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Feb. 29 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Winchester.

Volunteers will complete a pre and post survey and a pre and post fitness assessment. Class size is limited to 20 participants. Information, registration: Rebecca Davis at 540-662-5699 or rdavis58@vt.edu.

 

College news

Adrienne Hagan, of Berryville, is one of 15 graduate students chosen to receive a teaching assistant award at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She will be honored at an awards ceremony on March 2 at the university.
