Mt. View Parish
Pastor Barbara Krumm will be the speaker for a Lenten service sponsored by the Mt. View Parish at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Woodstock. The theme will be “Open My Life, Lord.”
Jenny Jeffries, an environmental health specialist with the Shenandoah County Health Department, will discuss food safety at the luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of New Market at noon Wednesday at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in Miller Grille.
Bowman Library in Stephens City will host “Learn Spanish with Angela” at 4:15 p.m. each Wednesday in March.
Children and their parents will learn the Spanish language through the use of games, songs, puppets and picture books.
Dr. Seuss’ birthday
Libraries in the Shenandoah County Library System will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 112th birthday for a Read Across America program from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A variety of activities including stories and refreshments will be held at each of the three library locations: Shenandoah County Library in Edinburg, New Market Area Library and the Strasburg Community Library. The program is free and registration is not required.
Children up to age 6 who participated in the winter reading program at the New Market Area Library may turn in their reading log to receive their free book.
