Friday is the deadline to register to attend an agronomy update meeting sponsored by the Shenandoah County Extension office at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Creekside Plain and Fancy in Edinburg.

Mardi Gras benefit
AIDS Response Effort (ARE) will hold its 10th annual Mardi Gras benefit at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Best Western-Lee Jackson, 711 Millwood Ave., Winchester.
Traditional Mardi Gras attire is encouraged, but not mandatory. The event will feature a New Orleans-style buffet dinner, dancing, raffles, silent auctions and live auction.
Tickets, which will only be sold in advance, are $50 per person and are available at the ARE office at 333 W. Cork St., Winchester or online at http://aremardisgras2016.eventbrite.com.
ARE is a nonprofit organization that provides health care information and compassionate care for those impacted by HIV/AIDS, homelessness and human service needs in the Northern Shenandoah Valley Region. Information: www.aidsresponseeffort.org.
