Card showers

First aid classes
The Lord Fairfax EMS Council will offer community first aid CPR/AED classes as well as basic life support for health care providers at 180-1 Prosperity Drive, Winchester.

• Basic life support: 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday and Feb. 23; noon-4:30 p.m., Feb. 11, 17 and 29; 5-9:30 p.m., Feb. 25; 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Feb. 27.
• Community class (adult only): 5-9:30 p.m., Feb. 10.
• Community class (adult/child/infant): 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Feb. 16.

Teen board
The Teen Advisory Board, open to middle and high school students, will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Bowman Library in Stephens City.

The group plans and present events, advise on library materials, advise on tween and teen library events and assist with other library events and activities.

4-H club meetings
The Shenandoah County Extension office in Woodstock has announced the following 4-H clubs will hold meetings:
• The New Market 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Reformation Lutheran Church.
• The Shenandoah County 4-H Livestock Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren.
• The St. Luke-Saumsville 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Saumsville Christian Church.

Kiwanis club
The Kiwanis Club of Old Town will hold a luncheon meeting at noon Monday at the Godfrey Miller Home on the Old Town Mall.

The speaker will be LeRoy Lovett with the Disabled American Veterans.

Samuels Library
Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold the following story-time programs in February.

Big Kids story time for kindergarten and up: 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Feb. 23.
Toddler story time: 10:15 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday and Feb. 24 and 25.
Preschool story time: 11 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday and Feb. 24 and 25.

Course for men
A course for high school men and older titled “Men Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood” will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 21 for 10 weeks at the Linden United Methodist Church.

A preview of the course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be provided.

Coat drive
Signet Screen Printing & Embroidery in Winchester is running a coat drive through the month of February.

Coats will be donated to three local nonprofit organizations: Congregational Community Action Project (CCAP), Henry & William Evans Home for Children and Community Assistance Fund.
