Pork dinner

The Woodstock Presbyterian Church Men will sponsor a pork tenderloin dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

A free will offering will be accepted. Take-out dinners are $12. The Presbyterian Church Women will provide desserts. Proceeds will benefit Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter.

Gardening symposium

Friday is the deadline to register for the Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association’s “Gardening in the Shenandoah Valley” symposium from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. March 12 in Hester Auditorium of Henkel-Harris Hall at Shenandoah University.

Speakers include Kin Strader, assistant curator at the state Arboretum at Blandy Farm; Gail Rose of Deauville Farm; Mary Stickley-Godinez of Countryside Farm and Nurseries; and Rob Morrison, researcher with the USDA-ARS Appalachian Fruit Research Station.

Head Start

Skyline CAP Head Start, a free preschool program for 3 to 5 year old children from income eligible families, is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year.

Children must have turned 3 years old by Sept. 30, 2016. Children with special needs are encouraged to apply.
