Rotary Club presents awards

The Rotary Club of Woodstock celebrated its 91th anniversary with a special lunch and award presentations.

Receiving the Clower Award, which celebrates a life in public service, went to Robert W. Claytor, of Winchester, who is the current chairman of the Rotary Foundation for the Woodstock Club. A Rotarian for more than 40 years, Claytor has served as president of the Woodstock club as well as assistant district governor. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. This award honors the late Joe Clower, a professor, historian and community activitist.

The J. Carl Coiner Award, named after a Rotarian with a long history of service in the 1940s, went to Rick Glading, of Woodstock. He served twice as president as well as assistant district governor. A member since 1984, Glading is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Cena Louise Hubbell, of Toms Brook, was named Rotary Volunteer of the Year. A Rotarian for the past 15 years, she currently serves as club treasurer, is a Paul Harris Fellow and has served as club president.

Paul Harris Fellowships were conferred on Steve Heishman, Jeremy McCleary and Rex Morrison.
