Garden club
Tamara Gibson will present a program on succulents at the meeting of the Mount Jackson Garden Club at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Information: 856-2272.

Concerts
Shenandoah Conservatory will hold the following concerts:
• Wednesday: 8 p.m., EDGE Ensemble, Shenandoah Conservatory’s new music ensemble, will perform works by Jonathan Newman, HK Gruber, Annie Gosfield and the winner of this year’s William Averitt Prize for Excellence in Composition at Bright Box Theater, 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester. Tickets are $12.
• Thursday: 7 p.m., Van Buren Winds, Shenandoah Conservatory’s faculty wind quintet, will give a free concert in Goodson Chapel, 1400 L.P. Hill Drive, Winchester.

Open chess
Handley Library in Winchester will host open chess games at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for all ages and skill levels.
One-on-one instruction for new players will be offered at 5:30 p.m. along with a lecture on chess basics and strategy. Meetings are held monthly on the second and fourth Wednesdays. Information: www.handleyregional.org.

Egg hunt
Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Jerome will hold an Easter egg hunt at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Food will be available for all children attending.
