Kindergarten registration

Shenandoah County kindergarten registration will be held from noon to 7 p.m. March 29, 30 and 31 at W.W. Robinson, Ashby-Lee and Sandy Hook elementary schools.

Any child who is 5 years old by Sept. 30 is eligible. Parents should register children in the attendance zone where they live and assigned.

Parents do not have to bring children to the registration, however, the following are required:

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Child’s immunization record
  • Child’s street address.

Also, parents or guardians need to bring official government identification, like a driver’s license, and two documents that show the parent’s/guardian’s name and address.

All entering kindergarten students will be expected to participate in pre’kindergarten screenings of hearing, fine motor skills and general readiness.

Parents can make appointments during registration for the screenings, which will be held in June at each of the elementary schools.
