Winners of 4-H contest named

The Shenandoah County 4-H All Star chapter has announced the winners of the recent county 4-H presentation contest.

In the senior division, blue ribbons were awarded to Karin Miyamoto, Exchange Club, citizenship; Abbey Rinker, Exchange Club, horse and public speaking; Tiffany Heishman, Lebanon Church, science fair and extemporaneous categories; Olivia Marshall, New Market, housing/interior category.

Junior members who received blue ribbons were Kaylee Cobb, Lebanon Church, housing/interiors; and Marie-Claire des Rosiers, Fort Valley and Livestock clubs, livestock.

Receiving red ribbons were Isaac Rhodes, Toms Brook, livestock; Kelly Andrews, New Market, grains; Niki Funkhouser, Seven Bends Shooting Club, shooting education; Haley Hallman, New Market, pets; and Jesse Zirkle, Lebanon Church, livestock.

Danielle Rinker, Toms Brook 4-H, received a red ribbon in the intermediate horse category.

Lizzi Zirkle, a Cloverbud member of the Lebanon Church 4-H Club, received a ribbon for her presentation in the livestock category.

Participants in this contest deliver a demonstration or illustrated talk related to their 4-H project or an extemporaneous speech related to 4-H. All of the county participants have qualified for district competition in April and the seniors have qualified for state competition in June.
