WINCHESTER –  Matt, a 1-year-old neutered male tabby cat, is a vocal little guy who has no problems warming up to staff at the Winchester Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals shelter, according to kennel attendant Sam Volpini.

Volpini says Matt can be a little wary of young children, and would best be suited for a household that doesn’t have any.

As for other pets, Matt is not a fan. He doesn’t get along with dogs or other cats.

“He’d be best suited for a house with only one cat,” said Volpini.

Matt was brought in to the Winchester SPCA when he was about 4 months old, according to Volpini.

“He came in with three brothers. Their owner had too many cats, I think,” she said. “They were really shy when they first got here – you couldn’t touch them. We got three of his brothers adopted and he’s the last one.”

Matt’s shyness has decreased, according to Volpini, and he spends most of his time on his favorite chair at the shelter.

Matt is ready to be adopted at the shelter, which is located at 115 Featherbed Lane.
