Les Taylor, with Tres Authors, will discuss the new book “Deputy Knowles Knows” at the luncheon meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Old Town at noon Monday at the Godfrey Miller Home on the Old Town Mall in Winchester.

The Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold a jewelry and purse sale, including a large selection of sterling silver jewelry, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
A meet and greet reception to welcome Bradley Polk as the new director of community development for Shenandoah County will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the county Government Center in Woodstock. Light refreshments will be served.
The Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Java Media and the Town of New Market to offer a marketing partnerships educational series.
The second session, “Emailing 101,” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in New Market.

The Front Royal Soccer Association ROX travel soccer program will hold a spring cash party from 6 to 10 p.m. May 21 at the Front Royal Moose Lodge, 1340 John Marshall Highway.
Proceeds will benefit the growing U-8 through U-19 youth travel soccer program.
Tickets are $50. Featured will be a $5,000 cash prize, pull tabs, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. A barbecue dinner and drinks are included. Attendees must be 21 and able to show valid identification.
