FRONT ROYAL — Mittens, a 10-year-old spayed female domestic short haired cat, is looking for a good home.

Her coat is a handsome black and white and she’s a very mellow, easy-going girl, said Michael Kerns, feline team leader at the Humane Society of Warren County.

“She’d do best in a quieter house with less commotion, definitely a patient owner,” Kerns said.

Kerns explained that Mittens was adopted briefly but returned due to her timidity.

“She’s sort of a timid girl,” said Kerns. “There were other pets in the house and she was doing a lot of hiding and didn’t come out for a while.”

Kerns said she is healthy, and her age is only about half of a cat’s average lifespan.

“No medical issues that we are aware of, she came here about three months ago,” said Kerns.
