History at sunset
Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park will host the History at Sunset programs with the first set for 7 p.m. today.
Ranger Jeff Driscoll will explore the attack of Maj. Gen. Stephen D. Ramseur’s Division on the Union line held by Col. Rutherford B. Hayes and Col. J. Howard Kitching’s troops.
Participants should meet at the Claytor Farm parking area, 2262 Claven Lane in Middletown. Each program is free and lasts between 90 minutes and two hours.

The Shenandoah Valley Tennis Association will host Tennis Play Day from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chimney Tennis Courts in Front Royal.
The program is free and open to ages 5 and up. The SVTA will be available to give instructions and involve participants in several games.

An end-of-school bash will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal.
DJ Kevin Owens will provide music. Admission includes a free gift and entry into hourly door prize drawings.

The Front Royal Presbyterian Church will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 115 Luray Ave.
Proceeds benefit the church’s July mission trip to Fayette County, West Virginia, where they will repair homes for the elderly and disabled.
Secret Passage Ranch will hold a World War II living history event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 321 Spring Mountain Way, Fort Valley.
Activities include a military encampment, weapons displays and demonstrations, military vehicles and cavalry. Jump Alley will provide music on Saturday. Admission is $5 per vehicle.
Monday is the deadline to reserve your seat to attend the luncheon meeting of the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Guild at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Winery at Kindred Pointe in Mount Jackson.
Cost is $20 per person. The Wild Flower Duo will provide special music.
