Bond classic to screen at Taylor Pavilion

The Magic Lantern Theater will screen “From Russia With Love,” a 1963 James Bond classic at dusk Saturday at the Taylor Pavilion in downtown Winchester as part of Classic Movie Night.

The movie will begin at about 8:30 p.m., and will last about two hours.

Mark Lore, coordinator for Magic Lantern Theater, said for events at the Taylor Pavilion the theater works with Downtown Manager Jennifer Bell and the contract events coordinator, Full Circle Marketing, to choose a diverse selection of classic films that are widely popular and meet criteria, such as content and length.

“So far, last year and this year, we are showing three films at the Taylor each summer,” he said. “Of course, we show other films, indoors and outdoors, in other locations throughout the year.”

He said the attendance turnout for these events varies between 85 and 125 people.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. In the case of rain, the showing will take place at Grace Luthern Evangelical Church, 28 W. Boscawen St., in Winchester.

The screening is free and open to the public.
