Class of 2016: Top students named
Shenandoah County Public Schools has announced the 2016 valedictorian and salutatorian from each of the high schools. The valedictorian is the student who graduates with the highest grade-point average compared to all of the other students in that graduating class. Salutatorian is the student with the second highest GPA.
Central High School
Benjamin Andrew Truban is valedictorian of Central High School. He is the son of Dr. Thomas and Melissa Truban, of Woodstock. He plans to attend Virginia Tech majoring in aerospace engineering.
Sadie French Roulston is class salutatorian. She is the daughter of Karl and Suzanne Roulston, of Woodstock. She will attend the University of Richmond.
Stonewall Jackson High School
Alexandra Claire Kahl is valedictorian of Stonewall Jackson High School. She is the daughter of Kathi Kahl and Jeffrey Kahl, of Mount Jackson. She will attend Virginia Tech majoring in animal and poultry science.
Olivia Paige Schutz is class salutatorian. She is the daughter of Laurel and Pat Schutz, of Edinburg. She plans to major in nursing at Liberty University.
Strasburg High School
Isabel Rebekah Davis is valedictorian of Strasburg High School. She is the daughter of Tina and John Davis, of Toms Brook. She plans to attend Virginia Tech majoring in engineering.
Ryan Edward Heilman is salutatorian. He is the son of Laurie and Mark Heilman, of Toms Brook. He plans to attend the University of Virginia.
