Recovery group
The Brain Injury Recovery Group will hold a game night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Winchester Medical Center at Shenandoah University Health Professions Building, 1775 North Sector Court, 1840 Amherst St., Winchester.

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will host the Books and Beyond Book Club at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The club will discuss “The Sun Also Rises” by Ernest Hemingway. Information: 540-635-3153.

Rotary club
The Rotary Club of New Market will hold a luncheon meeting at noon Wednesday at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in Miller Grille.

The guest speaker will be Chad Layman, owner of Fine Early Landscaping in Harrisonburg, who recently put on an adventure race to provide funds for the K9s for Warriors Program.

4-H club
The Cabin Hill 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Conicville Fire Hall. Information: 459-6140.

Pool party
Members of Cub Scout Pack 75 will attend the Kiwanis Club pool party from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Strasburg pool. Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided. Sign-up will be available for Scouting and information will be available for the new Lion’s Cub Scout program for kindergarten-age boys.

Uno tournament
The Shenandoah County Library in Edinburg will host an Uno card tournament for the last of the teen summer reading programs at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Gift cards will be given to the winners. There will be snacks and giveaways for everyone who participates. Registration is required. Information: 984-8200.

Lyceum series
District Ranger Mary Younce will discuss her new role with the U.S. Forest Service as part of a Lyceum discussion series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fort Valley Community Library.
