Safety day
The Stephens City Moose Lodge will hold a community safety day from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at 357 Fairfax Pike, across from Food Lion.

Local law enforcement will be on hand to do child safety identification kits and child car seat checks. Items will also be collected for the Winchester-Frederick-Clarke SPCA and Laurel Center in Winchester, which provides help to those affected by domestic violence. There will be a bounce house, slide, playground, fire trucks and food.

Strasburg Museum
The following volunteers are scheduled at the Strasburg Museum:
Sunday: morning, John Adamson; afternoon, Donna Bollhoefer.
Monday: morning, Bryan Stonesifer; afternoon, C.J. Borden.
Tuesday: morning, Judy Cosby; afternoon, Shirley Maddox.
Wednesday: morning, Bob Callihan and Wayne Ireson; afternoon, Libby Truesdale and Terry Sobers.
Thursday: morning, Hope Brim and Evelyn Judy; afternoon, Marie Spence.
Friday: morning, Margo Hammock; afternoon, Leon and Diane Smith.
Saturday: morning and afternoon, Conly and Tina Crabill.

Story times
Samuels Library in Front Royal has scheduled the following story-time programs:
Tuesday: 4:30 p.m., Big Kids program for kindergarten and up. Theme: balloons.
Wednesday and Thursday: 10:15 a.m., toddlers; 11 a.m., preschoolers. Theme: In the Country, about open spaces, back roads and quiet sounds. Siblings welcome.

Rotary club
Matt Hirchberg, local author of “Bad Medicine,” will be the speaker at the meeting of the Rotary Club of Frederick County at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury in Winchester.

The Rotary Club of New Market will meet at noon Wednesday at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in Miller Grille. The program will be by new member Dennis Bergin. Information: www.newmarketrotaryclub.net.

Tractor club
The Massanutten Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Club will not meet on Wednesday. The next meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Edinburg Fire Hall.

Clothes Closet sale
The Woodstock Clothes Closet will hold a one-day half-price sale from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
