Teen board
The Teen Advisory Board, open to middle- and high-school students, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Bowman Library in Stephens City.

The group plans and presents events and advises on library materials and activities. Information: Donna Hughes at 540-869-9000, ext. 215.

Flood donations
The Windhaven Church Youth Group in Mount Jackson is collecting items through Aug. 14 for the schools and students affected by the June flooding in West Virginia. One of the hardest hit areas was Nicholas County. Three schools were flooded and the buildings have now been deemed a loss.

Items being collected include: general school supplies and toothbrush/paste, face wash, soap, deodorant, lotion, hand sanitizer, hair products, hair ties, combs/brushes, nail clippers, nail polish, Chap Stick, Band-aids, granola bars/snacks and gum.

Needed supplies for teachers and schools: copy paper, folders and chairs for teachers, hanging folders, bookshelves and books for grades 6-8. Many band instruments were lost as well.

Items may be dropped off at the following locations:
• Hairspray, 1023 S. Main St., Woodstock.
• Pam Terry State Farm Insurance, 5324 Main St., Mount Jackson.

The Shenandoah County Library in Edinburg is collecting books for middle school students.
