The Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department will hold a carnival today and Saturday.
The parade starts at 7 p.m. today followed by music by Suspect. Chicken barbecue will be ready at 4:30 p.m. Saturday with music by the Back Creek Valley Boys at 6 p.m. Information: 465-4484.
St. Jacob’s Lutheran in Conicville will hold a lawn party from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Musical guests will be Lion of Judah. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, bratburgers, coleslaw, beans, chips and home-made ice cream. Proceeds will benefit a local charity.
The 2016 business meeting of Hottel-Keller Memorial Inc. will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Toms Brook.
Officers will be elected and clear cutting on the farm will be discussed.
Dinner will be served at noon. Lunch is $18 for adults and $9 for children younger than 12. There is also a registration fee of $5. The Shenandoah Germanic Heritage Museum and the Keller House will be open Friday afternoon.

The Jacob Gochenour family will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Rotary shelter at W. O. Riley Park in Woodstock. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and drinks.
Robert E. Aylor Middle School will hold a Green and Gold Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday for students to pick up class schedules, pay fees, try lockers and walk through the building.
