Harpine reunion
The Harpine family will hold a reunion starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in New Market.
Those attending are asked to bring a basket lunch. Plates, cups and utensils will be provided.

4-H meetings
The Shenandoah County Extension office has announced the following groups will meet:
• Toms Brook 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church.
• Seven Bends 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Round Hill Church of the Brethren in Toms Brook.

Library month
Samuels Public Library in Front Royal is celebrating National Get A Library Card Month in September.
All month long, children who sign up for their first library card receive a special prize and every time books are checked out children can enter a weekly raffle to win prizes. Information: 540-635-3153 or www.samuelslibrary.net.

College news
The following local students received degrees during graduation ceremonies held July 16 at Western Governors University:
• Kimberly Smoot, of Bentonville, received a bachelor degree in nursing.
• Matthew Pierce, of Front Royal, earned a master’s degree in information security and assurance.
• Melissa Nelms, of Stephens City, received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies K-8.
• Matthew Klus, of Woodstock, earned a master’s degree in information technology management.
