The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
Slow Creek will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Gazebo Gatherings Summer Concert Series at the gazebo on Village Commons in Front Royal.
Concerts, which are free, are presented by the Blue Ridge Arts Council in partnership with the County of Warren, Town of Front Royal and Virginia Commission for the Arts.
The Bowman Shannon Cultural Arts Center in Mount Jackson will hold its monthly First Friday concert program from 7 to 10 p.m. today on the back lawn, weather permitting.

The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum will offer free admission from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today as part of its Free First Friday program at 19 W. Cork St., Winchester. Information: 540-722-2020.
Bowman Library in Stephens City will host a free family film and picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The film being shown will be “McKenna Shoots for the Stars.”

The Flaming Shillelaghs will perform traditional Celtic music as part of the Bluemont Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. today at the old Frederick County Courthouse, 20 N. Loudoun St., Winchester.
Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and senior citizens and $2 for children under 12. In case of bad weather the concert will be moved to the First Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Loudoun St. Information: 540-338-4640.
Shenandoah Conservatory will present “Little Shop of Horrors” today through Sunday in Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, 620 Millwood Ave., Winchester.
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Gray Gallery will hold an art exhibition and opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. today at 43 S. Cameron St., Winchester. The exhibit, on display through Sept. 10, evaluates the importance of line and its complexity through the work of three artists. Information: www.the-gray-gallery.com.
Art in the Barn
Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown will hold its annual art auction from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Five of a Kind will provide music and there will be appetizers and fine wines and beers.

Public safety day
The Page County Fire-EMS fourth annual public safety day will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park in Luray. Members of the Page County Sheriff’s Office will hold a bike rodeo from 3 to 4 p.m. There will also be free food and drinks, a dunk booth, bounce house and free rides on Mr. Ed’s barrel train.
Evenings on Main
Souled Out will perform funk music at the Evenings on Main concert starting at 7 p.m. Saturday on Main Street, Luray.
Grammy-nominated Seth MacFarlane will perform with the National Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. Saturday at Wolf Trap in Vienna. Tickets range from $25 to $100. Information: 703-255-1900.
