Selah Theatre Project will offer the following acting classes at 30 E. 8th St., Front Royal:
• Senior Stage: 6:30 p.m., starts Thursday, one-year course in comedy, drama and scenic work. Tuition: $55 monthly.
• Junior Stage: 6:30 p.m., starts Monday, improvisation and play creation. Tuition: $45 monthly.

The Strasburg High School FFA will hold a bake sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at First Bank in Strasburg. Proceeds will benefit students attending the National FFA convention.
The Powhatan Ruritan Club will hold an auction beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oranda Schoolhouse. Food will be available starting at 9 a.m.
The Bowers family will hold a reunion and covered-dish luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Edinburg.
Retired Navy Commander Bob Coolbaugh will talk about the origins of naval aviation and how airplanes changed naval warfare at 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Market Library. The program is free. Registration not required.
Hites Chapel United Methodist Church, west of Middletown, will hold a chicken barbecue starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. Half-chicken dinners are $12 for adults and $6 for children.
The Strasburg Chamber of Commerce will hold a cash party on Saturday at the Strasburg Moose Lodge.

Elvis tribute artist Kevin Booth will give a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the John H. Elders Fire Hall, 9 S. Buchmarsh St., Berryville.

The Narrow Passage chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah County Library in Edinburg.

AARP will sponsor an eight-hour Smart Driver Safety Program from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 16 at Our Health in Winchester for people 50 and older.
