Strasburg declared a drought watch Thursday and issued voluntary water conservation measures to residents and businesses.
Due to the Shenandoah River’s flow rate ebbing below 175 cubic feet per second, residents are encouraged to limit indoor and outdoor water use.
The Pittsburgh-based dance company, Attack Theatre, will perform at 8 p.m. today and Saturday at the Forbes Center for Performing Arts Dance Festival in Harrisonburg.
The program will also feature James Madison University dance faculty members Ryan Corriston, Shane O’Hara, Kate Trammell, Suzanne Miller-Corso and Cynthia Thompson. Tickets are $13-$18. Information: www.jmuforbescenter.com.

Mountain Stage, a two-hour live music program, will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at James Madison University’s Forbes Center for the Performing Arts in Harrisonburg to benefit WMRA Radio.

Izaak Walton League
The Browntown chapter of the Izaak Walton League will hold a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 3364 Gooney Manor Loop, Browntown.
A family picnic will be held on Sept. 18. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and/or dessert.
Scott Dawson with NW Works will be the speaker at the luncheon meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Old Town at noon Monday at the Godfrey Miller Home on the Old Town Mall.

People Incorporated, which provides opportunities for economically disadvantaged people, will hold an open house and ice cream social starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday at its new office at 135 S. Main St., Woodstock. A ribbon cutting will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Bowman Library in Stephens City will host a Moon Festival at 6 p.m. Tuesday featuring storytelling, plays, traditional Moon festival foods, crafts and information about the traditions and history of the Moon Festival celebrated in China.
Mental illness program
The Northern Shenandoah affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will sponsor a free family-to-family education program from 6:30 to 9 p.m. starting Tuesday for 12 weeks at the Systems Support building of Winchester Medical Center, 220 Campus Blvd.
The program is specifically for families and caregivers of persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Information, registration: Steve Tickner at 540-533-1832.

• St. Luke-Saumsville 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Saumsville Christian Church.
