Tractor/engine club
The Massanutten Antique Tractor and Gasoline Engine Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Edinburg Fire Hall. The date was incorrect in Monday’s issue.

Yard sale
The Women of the Moose Angels will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge in Winchester, 215 E. Cork St. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life.

Blessing of animals
Posh Pets Boutique and Dakota’s Dream Animal Rescue will be attending and co-sponsoring the Blessing of the Animals service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 810 Fairfax St., Stephens City.
In addition to adoptable animals looking for their forever homes, a special visit will be made by baby Hope, a German Shepherd puppy born with no back paws. Hope shows that special-needs animals are very adoptable and is an inspiration.

Fall fun fest
Columbia Furnace Church of the Brethren will hold a fall fun fest from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 20910 Senedo Road, Edinburg.
There will be free food, drinks, tethered hot air ballon rides, open house/church tours, silent auction to benefit the church youth group, moon bounces, face painting, fingerprinting kits, a search and rescue dog, CPR demonstrations, blood pressure readings, music and games.

Dinner, auction
The Linden United Methodist Church Women are sponsoring a dinner and blind auction at 5 p.m. Saturday at 13466 John Marshall Highway.
The dinner will include roast pork, roast turkey breast, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, green beans, rolls, dessert and beverage. The auction will follow.
A free-will offering will be accepted with proceeds benefiting local mission projects. Information: 540-635-7922.

Samuels Library
Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold the following activities on Saturday:
• Books and Barks program: 10:10 a.m., for developing readers to read with a trained therapy dog.
• Chess and More: 2 p.m., for ages 6 and up to play chess, checkers and other board games.

BBQ/bake sale
Shiloh Methodist Church will hold a barbecue chicken and bake sale starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at 2594 John Marshall Highway, Strasburg.

Yard/bake sale
Millwood United Methodist Church will hold a yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 700 Bishop Meade Road, Millwood. The sale will be held rain or shine.

Master Gardeners
The Shenandoah County Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Strasburg Farm Market at Pot Town Organics. Information: 459-6140.

ServSafe course
The Frederick County Extension office is sponsoring a two-day ServSafe Manager’s course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 and 14 at MidAtlantic Farm Credit in Winchester.
The cost is $150 if received by Oct. 3. Groups of 10 or more pay a reduced rate. Information, registration: 540-665-5699.

Petco grants
The Petco Foundation is offering $750,000 in grants for the holiday season to qualified animal welfare organizations. Adopters are encouraged to share their story of how their adopted pet changed their lives to give the shelter they adopted from a chance at receiving one of the grants offered, up to $100,000.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 15. Submissions are limited to 500 words and should include pictures and a video. Information:
