Knitting Guild
The Shenandoah Knitting Guild will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, 75 Merriman’s Lane, Winchester.
The program will be devoted to the process of spinning.

Documentary shown
Unity of the Shenandoah will show the documentary “Re-Imagining Jesus” at 7 p.m. Friday at 6460 Valley Pike, Stephens City. Information: 540-868-1903.

Cook reunion
The Cook family will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. Saturday at the big pavilion at Edinburg Park. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

Samuels Library
Samuels Library in Front Royal will present a program on fall vegetable planting at 11 a.m. Saturday for ages 6 and older.
Children will plant cool, hardy vegetables and take home a how-to book and a vegetable to start their own little patch.

The Shenandoah County Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Street Barn Market in the American Legion parking lot in Woodstock.

Diabetes program
Sept. 13 is the registration deadline to participate in a diabetes prevention program from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 527 Van Fossen St., Winchester.
The year-long program. sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension in cooperation with the Lord Fairfax Health District, will offer individualized lifestyle coaching to reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
The program is free for uninsured individuals and those receiving Medicaid benefits but others may enroll for $90, part of which will be refunded upon completion. Information, registration: Rebecca Davis at 540-665-5699 or

Warren HS reunion
Sept. 15 is the registration deadline to attend the Warren County High School class of 1976 reunion at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Front Royal Country Club. Classmates from 1975 and 1977 will also attend.
