Pet of the Week: Affectionate Samuel looks for loving home

WINCHESTER – Samuel, a young, affectionate male black cat, is looking for a loving place to call home.

Samantha Volpini, Winchester SPCA kennel attendent, said Samuel arrived at the shelter as a stray back in May.

“He’s very sweet,” Volpini said, but added that their black cats have a tougher time getting adopted.

The loving Samuel is a lazy, snuggly cat that gets along with everyone, she said, and will rub up against you for additional love and attention and will purr when doted upon.

He is good with other cats, and though he hasn’t been tested with dogs or children, Volpini doesn’t anticipate any problems with children.

“He’s pretty calm and collected,” she added. “I think he could fit in most places.”

She added that he plays from time to time but prefers to sit on a lap and cuddle while being pet.

The 2-to-3-year-old short-haired cat is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and has been microchipped. His adoption fee is $95.
