Newcomers Club

Rotary club

Northwestern board
The Northwestern Community Services Board will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunshine House in New Market.

AMVETS Post 18 will hold a membership meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at World’s Away, 7793 Main St., Middletown.

Shenandoah University in Winchester has announced two upcoming free concerts on Thursday:
• Violinist Ernest Salem, professor of music at California State University, Fullerton’s School of Music, will perform at 7 p.m. in Armstrong Concert Hall.
• Ronn McFarlane, a Grammy-nominated lutenist and Shenandoah Conservatory alumnus, will perform at 7 p.m. in Goodson Chapel Recital Hall.

Yard/craft show
American Legion Post 166 in New Market will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and its annual craft show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Apple butter will be made on premises and available for purchase.

Story time
The New Market Area Library will host a preschool story time at 10 a.m. Thursday for ages 3 to 5.
Activities include book reading, songs, movement activities and crafts centered around the theme “Fall Fiesta.”
