Card shower
A card shower is planned for Linda Golladay Quick, who will celebrate her 70th birthday Nov. 1. Cards can be sent to 5 Lamberts Villa, Edinburg 22824.

Supper
The West Shenandoah Ruritan Club will hold a ham and oyster supper starting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Orkney Springs Hotel. The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children 6-12.

Bingo
A Longaberger basket and Thirty-One Bingo will be held Sunday at the New Market Fire Department to benefit Life Care Center’s resident Christmas fund.
Doors open at 1 p.m. and play begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance (includes entry into a special basket drawing) or $25 at the door.

Applications
The Salvation Army Front Royal Corps will be accepting make-up applications for its Christmas Assistance Programs for low-income families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and Nov. 3-4 at 357 Cloud St., Front Royal. This is the last opportunity to apply for the Christmas Assistance Programs.

To qualify, children must be 12 or younger as of Dec. 25. Parents/guardians must provide proof of address, expenses and household income, photo identification for all adults in the household and proof of birth dates for all children.

The Christmas Assistance Programs, which include both the Angel Tree Program and Christmas food baskets, are available to all residents of Warren and Page counties. Information: 540-635-4020.
