New Market Library holds history talk
Paul Roth, who works with the John Kline Homestead in Broadway, gave a talk titled “Crossing the Line: a Dunker Doctor/Preacher’s Determined Ride for Peace,” with books, documents and stories to share, on Oct. 22 at the New Market Area Library.
He noted that the Homestead is resuming its candlelight dinners, allowing visitors to experience the uncertainty of John Kline’s family in the fall of 1860 as they talk about rumors of war. Dinners will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 16-17. Information, reservations: 540-421-5267 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
