Radio club
The Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 2921 Grace St., Winchester. A YouTube presentation will be shown on how the Space Station crew uses ham radio to call Earth.

Chicken barbecue will be sold to benefit the Central High School class of 1982 starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wholesome Foods pit in Edinburg and at the Woodstock office of Edward Jones Investments. $4 per half.

The New Market Fire and Rescue will hold a country ham potpie dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A free-will offering will be accepted. Potpie to go is available for $5 per quart.

Blue Ridge Housing Network and People Inc. will offer a free homebuyer class from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and March 14 at Farmers & Merchants Bank, 161 S. Main St., Woodstock.

Local experts will give presentations on personal finance, credit and credit issues, working with the lender, role of the real estate agent, the home inspection and the loan closing. Certificates of completion will be given, which fulfills the education requirement for down-payment assistance programs and loan products.
