Martina McBride to headline Shenandoah County Fair entertainment

Martina McBride will headline at this year’s Shenandoah County Fair during “An Evening with Martina McBride.”

Tom Eshelman, general manager of the Shenandoah County Fair Association, said McBride will perform for about 75 to 85 minutes beginning at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 for the 100th anniversary of the Shenandoah County Fair taking place Aug. 25 through Sept. 2. in Woodstock.

“As far as we know, she has never appeared in the valley,” he said.

He said a new feature at this year’s fair will be the expanded track seating, which will create an additional 1,000 seats. Approximately 2,700 seats will be available. Seating categories include Premium Track, Regular Track and Grandstand seating.

Reserve tickets will go on sale at 6 a.m. March 1 and will be available online through ETIX at www.shencofair.com by clicking on the Martina McBride ticket link.

Multiple Grammy nominee Martina McBride has sold over 18 million albums, including 20 Top 10 singles and six No. 1 hits. She has more than 15 major music awards, including four Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association and won three Academy of Country Music for Top Female Vocalist.

McBride was also awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts related to domestic violence.

This year also marks McBride’s 25th year touring – she is currently touring North America on the LOVE UNLEASHED TOUR, with special guest Lauren Alaina.
