The New Market Library will hold the following story time programs in April:
• Books and Babies (birth-3): 10 a.m., Friday. Theme: April showers. Siblings welcome.
• Preschool story time (ages 3-5): 10 a.m., April 21. Theme: “spring things.”
Shenandoah County Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday at the Extension office in Woodstock. Information: 459-6140.
Delta Rho will sponsor the Swing for the Kids Gold golf tournament Friday at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club in Front Royal.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $85.
Sponsors can participate at a level of $100 to $500. A buffet lunch and awards will follow at 3 p.m. with prizes and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Information: 540-636-3494 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Woodstock Fire Department will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit the Department’s Auxiliary.
The Front Royal Corps of the Salvation Army will host its annual dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
The theme will be “A Night at the Movies.” The “stars” of the community who have supported the Salvation Army during the past year will be honored. There will also be entertainment, a trivia contest, silent auction and other fun activities.

The School Nutrition Association of the Shenandoah Valley will sponsor a gift card bingo from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Keister Elementary School in Harrisonburg. Twenty games will be played with gift card prizes ranging from $50 to $100 from Target, Wal-Mart and local businesses.
The cost is 50 cents per card per game or $10 for the entire evening for one card; additional cards per game may be purchased. Concessions available.
Warren County Parks and Recreation will sponsor an afternoon of Easter fun at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Raymond E. Santmyers Youth Center in Front Royal.
The event is for all ages but those 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
The cost is $10 per child and includes one picture with the Easter Bunny. Pre-registration is recommended by calling 540-635-1021.
