A card shower is being held this month for the Humane Society of Warren County as it celebrates its 70th birthday.
Cards can be mailed to 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal 22630.
Any donations received will benefit Olive’s Fund, created in 2013 to ensure shelter pets received the advanced medical care they need while awaiting adoption. Birthday cards will be displayed all month in the shelter’s lobby.
St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock will hold a fish fry starting at 5 p.m. today in Hanley Hall. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children.
Edinburg VFW Post 2447 will hold membership recruiting training at 10 a.m. Saturday at the post home.
Central High School’s class of 1982 will hold a chicken barbecue on Saturday at the Wholesome Foods BBQ pit in Edinburg. Chicken will be ready after 9:30 a.m.
The cost is $4 per half. Barbecue will also be available at the Edward Jones office in Edinburg.
The Lord Fairfax EMS Council will hold the following CPR classes for Heartsaver/First Aid and Basic Life Saving (BLS) for health care providers this month at 180-1 Prosperity Drive, Winchester:
• BLS instructor class: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday.
• BLS for health care providers: 5-9:30 p.m., Tuesday; 1-5:30 p.m., March 12.
Sample HeartCode Skills Session (Part 2): 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Thursday; 1-3:30 p.m., March 15.

The Warren County chapter of the Izaak Walton League will hold its annual meeting and chili dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the park in Browntown.
The Shenandoah County Extension office has announced the following 4-H meetings will be held:
• Seven Bends 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Round Hill Church of the Brethren in Toms Brook.
• Little North Mountain 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg.
The Hamburg Ruritan Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Edinburg.
Warren County Parks and Recreation will offer a Mah Jongg Players Club from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Community Center.

Clarke County Library in Berryville will hold preschool story-time programs for ages 3 and up at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays in March.
Woodstock United Methodist Church will hold Lenten services on Tuesdays through April 11.
Worship services will be at noon with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit Woodstock Ministerial Association’s outreach programs.
The Humane Society of Warren County will hold a new volunteer orientation at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. A parent must attend the orientation for those under 18.

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold a Time for Baby story time at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The theme will be “Marching with Monkeys.” Siblings welcome.
Handley Library in Winchester has announced the following programs will be held:

Winchester Trout Unlimited will host a “bar fly” event at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Escutcheon Brewing, 142 W. Commercial St., Winchester.
