The Winchester Little Theatre will present “Absolutely Dead,” a first-place winner at the 2012 International Mystery Writers Festival, at 7 p.m. Thursday at 315 W. Boscawen St., Winchester. Playwright Michael Walker will be attending.

A reception will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the performance at 8 p.m. Dessert will be served at intermission.
Tickets, which are $30, will benefit Belle Grove Plantation’s preservation projects and education programs.

The Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a masquerade jewelry sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the hospital lobby. All jewelry will be $5.

The Christian Women’s Club will hold a luncheon meeting from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal.

The Charming Voices of the Skyline Show Choir will provide entertainment. The guest speaker will be Giselle Watenpaugh of Woodbridge.

Stephanie Grubbs, senior outpatient therapist at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, will be the speaker at the meeting of the Shenandoah County chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association at 9 a.m. Thursday at Denny’s in Mount Jackson.

Mount Jackson United Methodist Church will hold a Lenten soup supper and worship service at 6 p.m. Thursdays through April 6. Bible study will follow at 7:15 p.m.

Warren County Parks and Recreation will host a speed-dating event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Front Royal Golf Club.

The cost is $10 per person. Each session is limited to 14-20 participants. Additional sessions will be held the second Thursday of each month. Information: Rachel Walker at 540-635-1021.
