Weekend Events

The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:

Shenandoah Conservatory will host the following concerts and dance performance on Saturday:
• The Symphony Orchestra and winners of the Student Soloists competition will perform at 8 p.m. in Armstrong Concert Hall. Tickets: $12.
• Dance icon Doug Varone celebrates his company’s 30th anniversary with a performance at 8 p.m. in Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre. Tickets: $25.
• The Wind Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. in Armstrong Concert Hall. Tickets: $12.

Heritage Day
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will celebrate Heritage Day with free programs by history/genealogy groups, lectures, door prizes and information tables from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Saturday at 901 Amherst St., Winchester. Information: 540-662-1473 or www.themsv.org.

Body Renew Family Fitness Center will have an exhibit featuring lifelike Stegosaurus, Velociraptor and T-Rex dinosaurs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 221 Commonwealth Court, Winchester.

Bright Box
Springfield Exit with Wild The Waters will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Bright Box Theater, 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester.

Bridal show
The Shenandoah Valley Greater Virginia Bridal Show will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds Exhibit Hall, Harrisonburg.

Featured will be tastings, a designer fashion show and prizes. Admission is $10 (cash only). Information: 540-434-0005.

The Magic Lantern Theater will host a screening of “Hunt for the Wilderpeople,” a road movie from New Zealand, at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

Admission is $8 or $5 for Theater, MSV and Barns of Rose Hill members. A future showing will be held at 4 p.m. on March 19 at Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville.

The Barns
The Barns of Rose Hill has announced the following programs will be held this weekend at 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville:
• Today: 7 p.m., the documentary film “The Lady and the Outlaw Horse-Jane Pohl and Fitzrada” will be shown. Tickets: $5, free for children 12 and under.
• Saturday: 8 p.m., concert by The Russian Duo. Tickets: $20 in advance, $25 at the door, free for ages 12 and under.
