Weekend Events

The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:

Film
Arts Council of the Valley will show “Fly Fishing Film Tour 2017″ from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Court Square Theater in Harrisonburg.

Tickets are $12 or $15 online. Proceeds benefit the Massanutten chapter of Trout Unlimited and Shenandoah Valley chapter of Project Healing Waters. Beer and wine sold. Information: 540-433-9189.

Mystery
The Winchester Little Theatre will present “Absolutely Dead,” a first-place winner at the 2012 International Mystery Writers Festival, at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Future performances will be held March 23-25.

Bright Box
Bright Box Theater has announced the following activities being held this weekend at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester:

Selah Theater
Selah Theater Project will present Saint Paddy’s with Sarah Mae Foster from 7 to 10 p.m. today at 30 E. 8th St., Front Royal. Tickets are $5. Information: 540-686-5185.

 

Film
Handley Library will host a screening of “Clown in’ Kabul” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The documentary follows over 20 international clowns and doctors as they spread joy and laughter in war-torn Afghanistan with The Gesundheit! Institute founded by Dr. Patch Adams. A discussion with Wildman and Elisa Adams, Patch’s brother and sister-in-law, will follow the film. Information: Barbara Dickinson at 540-662-9041 ext. 31.

Rouse Center
The Rouse Center for the Arts in New Market will present Neil Simon’s “Rose and Walsh” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Future performances will be held March 24-26. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Information: rouss.center@gmail.com.

Arts/crafts show
A spring arts and crafts show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg. Information: Leann Cloud at 540-879-9417.

Screening
The Magic Lantern Theater will host a screening of “Hunt for the Wilderpeople,” a road movie from New Zealand, at 4 p.m. Sunday at Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers St., Berryville.

Concert
The Five Irish Tenors will give a free performance at 7 p.m. Sunday at James Madison University’s Forbes Center for the Perform Arts in Harrisonburg. Information: 540-568-4394.
