Woodstock hosts chili fest on Saturday
Try a variety of mild and hot chilis at the Woodstock Chili Fest on Saturday when teams compete for the best chili title.
The chili fest will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lilly Building at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds.
Katie Mercer, director of marketing and events for the Town of Woodstock, said six teams will be competing, with some teams making multiple recipes.
“Three teams will be preparing their recipes onsite beginning early that morning and I am hopeful that after more event attendees are exposed to this idea that we’ll add more teams next year,” she added.
Mercer said that in addition to the chili competition, there will also be a variety of activities to keep the kids entertained, including outdoor bowling, giant coloring sheets, kid-sized connect four games and mustache tattoos.
The Instigators will perform music throughout the event.
Tickets are $5 for anyone 13 years and older. Children 12 and under are free. Adult beverages and pizza from Tony’s Pizza will be available for purchase.
