A card shower is planned for Richard “Baldy” Frye, who will celebrate his 80th birthday April 20. Cards can be sent to 143 E. Avondale Ave., Mount Jackson, Virginia 22842.

International speaker and author, Frank Turek, will give a free talk from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Church of the Brethren, 23502 Senedo Road, Woodstock.

The title of his talk will be “Why I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist.” Information: 540-459-3661.

Professor Ramon Selove and his wife Shellie will present the program “Therapy Dogs and Service Dogs: The Difference They Make” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bowman Library in Stephens City.

Special guests will be Coriander, Selove’s service dog, and Abby, Shellie’s therapy dog. Information: 540-662-9041.

The Fort Valley Volunteer Fire Department will hold a ham and oyster supper from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Cost is $17 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. Dessert donations welcome. Information:

The Middletown Volunteer Fire and Rescue Auxiliary will host a turkey or oyster supper starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall. Cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Takeouts available.

The Front Royal-Warren County Relay for Life will host “Rockin’ For Relay” featuring The Foggband from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Hall.

There will also be a raffle, contests, bake sale and concessions. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple in advance or $20 and $30 at the door. Tickets available at One Main Financial at its South Street branch.

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal has announced the following programs will be held:
• Chess and More: 2 p.m., Saturday, for ages 6 and up to play chess, checkers and other board games.
• SAM Create-Nature Crafts: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, for adults and mature children to create both art and practical items using materials from nature. Registration required.
