EDINBURG – Harlan, an inquisitive brown tabby at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter is seeking a loving new home.

Animal Caretaker Katrina Keywood said the 1 1/2-year-old tabby was surrendered to the shelter at the end of March after her parents divorced.

She added that Harlan is “very inquisitive” and loves to sniff around new surroundings. Her sense of playfulness hasn’t diminished and she will still swat around a toy and loves to be petted, but on her own terms.

“She’s a talker,” Keywood said, explaining that Harlan meows often when she is roaming around and playing.

Harlan gets along well with other cats, but Keywood doesn’t recommend a home with small children because the tabby can be a bit temperamental if provoked. Keywood said she also isn’t sure how Harlan would react around dogs.

Harlan is spayed but will need her rabies vaccination. Her adoption fee is $15.
