Saturday, October 11, 2008 What's going on WinchesterNAMI support groups The National Alliance on Mental Illness Family & Friends Support Group will meet on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at 333 W. Cork St. Its Connection Support Group will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. at 333. W. Cork St.
Red Cross bloodmobiles The Top of Virginia chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a bloodmobile at its Lucy L. Custer Building on Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m. Bloodmobiles will also be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Mill and on Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Daily Grind.
Ridings Chapel Methodist The Rev. Timothy Teates will preach at the homecoming service on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church, south of Stephens City. A covered-dish luncheon will follow. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m.
Barns of Rose Hill The Barns of Rose Hill will sponsor a discussion by Tulley Holland, author of the mystery "Moneybag$" on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church in Berryville.
Greenwood Fire Department The Rev. Steve Melester will be the speaker at a memorial service on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Fire Hall. An open house, tours and demonstrations will follow.
Mt. Olive Baptist The Rev. Verdice Stribling will preach on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at White Post. Further information is available by calling 662-4875.
Area Agency on Aging The Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging will hold a seminar, "Are You Prepared?" on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Winchester Park and Recreation Department. The cost is $5. Proceeds benefit the agency's meals and services program. Reservations, which are due by Monday, can be made by calling 635-7141. |
