Summer theater programs stage plays for children

Theater programs in Mt. Jackson and Winchester have announced children’s performances taking place this summer.

In Mt. Jackson, Brighter Days Bible Church, at 123 Medical Drive, will hold its Shenandoah Youth Musical Theater camp.

“E-I-E-I Oops!” for ages 4 to 7 will take place 9 a.m.-noon June 17-21. The cost is $85, and the final program will be presented at 11 a.m. June 21.

“The Best Little Theater in Town” will be for ages 12 to 19, 9 a.m.-noon July 29 to Aug. 2. The cost is $85, and the final program will be presented at 7 p.m. Aug. 2.

At Winchester Little Theatre this summer, the WLT for Kids program will present “Cinderella” in June and “Beauty and the Beast” in July.

“Cinderella,” by Craig W. Stump and directed by Victoria Ryles will run June 22-29, and “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” directed by Sara Gomez, will run July 20-27.

Performances will be at 2:30 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
