Blue Ridge Hospice 5K raises money for Camp Hope
The Blue Ridge Hospice has announced the following winners of its annual hospice 5K, which raised money to support its annual Camp Hope. Camryn Ubert of Stephens City and Karsten Brown of Front Royal took top honors in the rac:
With a time of 20 minutes and 50 seconds, 11-year-old Camryn won the Female Overall Division at Blue Ridge Hospice’s annual 5K Run/Walk held Oct. 19 at Blandy Experimental Farm at The State Arboretum of Virginia in Clarke County.
In the Male Overall Division, Karsten took first place, finishing in 17 minutes and 59 seconds. In its 11th year, the event attracted 350 runners and walkers.
More than $20,000 was raised to support Blue Ridge Hospice’s annual Camp Hope for children who are grieving the loss of a loved one, as well as other hospice services. Camp Hope is annually offered free to the community to assist children who have experienced the loss of a loved one and may be grieving.
This year’s race sponsors were BB&T and Allstate.
