REC scholarship applications announced
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative has announced scholarship applications are available for its two scholarship programs: the Literacy, Education, and Rural Networking Scholarship; and the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives Scholarship.
REC will award 16 $1,000 LEARN scholarships to qualified students, and scholarship winners will be selected based upon their scholastic achievements, community involvement, recommendations, extracurricular activities and written essay. Completed applications must be received by REC no later than Feb. 24.
Scholarship amounts for the VMDAEC are determined annually and are awarded to students throughout VMDAEC’s service areas, including REC. Scholarship winners will be selected based upon their scholastic achievements, community involvement, recommendations and written personal statement, and completed applications must be received by VMDAEC no later than Feb. 19.
Each year REC offers its two scholarship programs to high school seniors who are seeking to advance their career goals by attending a college or trade school. To apply for each scholarship, the applicant’s parent or guardian must be a customer of REC and the applicant must be planning to enroll in an accredited educational or training institution.
