Chester senior named high school scholar

The National Society of High School Scholars has announced Thomas Dale High School student Brianna N. Monroe, a senior from Chester, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.

The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes. Brianna plans to attend East Carolina University or Radford University in the fall. She is the daughter of Anthony Gregory and the granddaughter of Sylvia Gregory of Charles Town, W.Va., and Keith and Carolyn Monroe.
