Festival announces top talent show contestants
The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival has announced the 12 finalists chosen to compete in the “Apple Blossom’s Got Talent!” show on May 3.
The following area talents will perform:
Singers Jacki Stem, Amanda Ortiz and Michael Gremillion of Winchester and Patrina Thomas of Middletown
Four-member bands The Doahnomics Saxophone Quartet of Winchester and The Travelin Hillbillies of Harrisonburg
Freestyle hula hoop artist Alexandra Borden of Stephens City
The following out-of-area talents will perform:
Singers Patsy Godley of Fredericksburg, Heather Gayle of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Shawn Nakie of Frederick, Md.
Swing dancing duo Pam and Steve Springer of Hagerstown, Md.
Hip hop dancer Nicole Michael of Charlotte, N.C.
The Vegas-styled finals will be from 8 p.m. to midnight on May 3, with expected celebrities like Landau Murphy and “Big Bill” Walton. The VIP section of the event is nearly sold out, but regularly-priced tickets are still for sale. There are no bad seats in the Sprint Festival Event Tent, according to a festival news release.
