AIDS Response Effort presents $1,500 to Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter
AIDS Response Effort has announced it recently presented a check for $1,500 to Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter. A fire on April 13 left the organization without office space following the loss of temporary shelter for their homeless constituents at the Alms House in Maurertown.
The fire also wiped out their computers, physical records and everything else in the house. The SAS office has relocated its personnel to Woodstock where it can manage current and new clients.
The SAS’s mission is to prevent homelessness by providing temporary shelter and supportive services designed to enable clients to achieve independence.
ARE provides crucial healthcare information and compassionate care for those impacted by HIV/AIDS, homelessness and human service needs in the Northern Shenandoah Valley Region. Without the combined efforts of SAS and ARE, many individuals affected by homelessness who live in the Northern Shenandoah Valley would receive limited help.
To make a contribution to SAS, mail a donation by check or money order directly to SAS, P.O. Box 241, Maurertown, VA 22644.
