Chelsea Academy girls’ soccer team ends season undefeated
The Chelsea Academy girls’ soccer team finished the season with a win against Holy Family Academy.
The win boosted the team record to 5-0, making it the first team in the six-year history of the school to complete an undefeated season.
Led by captains Helena Briggs and Mary Margaret Olohan, the team played its final game before a large crowd of supporters.
In the five-game run, Chelsea scored 27 goals and allowed opponents only three.
In a news release from the school, Coach Jacob Guttierrez said the team laid this season’s foundation last year, “focusing on technique and positional soccer.”
“I hope that the girls walk away with the life lesson that a 5-yard jog now will save them a 10-yard sprint later,” he said.
