Day school students earn top honors in national exams

Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly has announced its students earned top honors in two national exams recently.

The 2014 National Latin Exam and National Mythology Exam results showed the majority of WCDS students scored above the national average for these exams, with several students earning unprecedented perfect scores. Nine percent of WCDS students finished with perfect scores which beats the global average of one percent.

Earning these perfect scores were seventh grade students Eva Parrios and Lily Shahida and eighth grade students Tony Elar, Douglas Griffin, Andrew Kwolek and Zoe Porterfield.

Additionally students earned gold medals and Summa Cum Laude certificates. Included in this group are eighth grader Jackson Romine, ninth grade student Tanner Perry and 10th graders Carolina Leonard and Mollie Miller and Rebecca Paulisch.

Several other students earned silver medals and Magna Cum Laude certificates and others were awarded bronze medals and Cum Laude certificates based on their performances.
