Feedsacks topic of library program
Nancy Thompson, a retired home economist with the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, presented a program on “Feedsacks and Chicken Linens” at the New Market Area Library on Sept. 13.
According to a news release, Thompson discussed the history of the feed sack and how families of 1930 through 1950 used them to make clothing and household textiles.
The next library program on Oct. 11 will feature a discussion about the Shenandoah National Park and music about the people who had to leave the park land.
